Aeronautical Charts in Digital Format

The migration of existing paper/PDF charts to digital charts based on data (sets) is an essential step for the State AIS chart units in the years to come. This is another important building block in the transition from AIS to AIM, when the ICAO obligated data provision to Next intended users is done exclusively by data sets. Charts then depict the data where necessary for better understanding or for flight safety reasons. Our digital process supports consistent updates of charts/maps in an automated fashion.

Core Features

aeroMAP has the following core features.

Chart/Map Process, Layout & Data

Adapt and manage your chart/map layouts based on standards or your own templates.
Use existing spatial data from any source (e.g. DTED, DEM, DTM, DSM, WMS, WMTS), connect e.g. to OSM for cultural data, and import aeronautical data in various data formats (e.g. AIXM 5.x via SHP or others).
Use the flexible symbol design either from ICAO Annex 4, which is included as default, or adapt and manage symbology according to your own needs.
You can also use LiDAR point cloud (e.g. containing obstacles), real time GPS, and Laser range finder import, if you need it.

Migration of Existing Charts

Import/render unstructured DTP charts (e.g. in PDF or DTP native). aeroMAP helps you to migrate them to aeroMAP. Then you continue to work with the familiar appearance of the map. Only the data structure is more stringent and allows a simple and efficient tracking with geodata or geoservices.
Take advantage from the symbol/colour repository to ease harmonised appearances of your maps.
Benefit from integrated geoservices such as WMS, most national geodata services and OpenStreetMap.
Use our native process Import → Adapt → Export.

Export What You Need, Where You Need It

Finalize your map with a layout for printing, export for further digital use (e.g. KML/KMZ, PDF/geoPDF, SVG image) or create a web map version. Export your maps to your EFB, contact us for supported formats.
